A fast-growing wildfire has burned thousands of acres on the Navajo Nation, and officials are warning some residents to evacuate.Parts of Oak Springs and Hunters Point are in “GO” status as of 8:30 p.

A wildfire that erupted over the weekend on the Navajo Nation near the New Mexico border has grown to more than 6,200 acres, according to the latest updates. The Oak Springs fire began Saturday a few miles southwest of Saint Michaels,

The Oak Ridge Fire near Window Rock, Arizona, has burned over 1,800 acres and was 0% contained, as of June 29, 2025. Authorities suspected wood haulers may have started the fire and were investigating two persons of interest. The Navajo Nation has declared a state of emergency and increased fire restrictions.
