Hurricane Erin has weakened to a category three hurricane as it moves towards the Bahamian Archipelago in the Caribbean.

Erin became a Category 3 hurricane in the Caribbean early Saturday and is expected to strengthen further during the day, the National Hurricane Center reported.

The hurricane was located 110 miles (180 kilometers) north of Anguilla at Saturday afternoon and moving west at 16 mph (26 kph).
