Christina Black's curling team from Nova Scotia has advanced to the semifinal at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Thunder Bay, Ont., with an 8-7 win over Alberta's Kayla Skrlik.

Kerri Einarson, the four-time Scotties Tournament of Champions, will get a shot at title No. 5, after beating Nova Scotia’s Christina Black 9-8 in Sunday’s semifinal, setting up battle of the titans in the finale against defending champion Rachel Homan.

The superstar skip from Ontario, representing Team Canada, secured a spot in Sunday’s final at the national curling championship after a sensational effort on Saturday evening as she downed Manitoba’s Kerri Einarson 8-4 in nine ends in the 1-2 page playoff.

While defending champion Rachel Homan, Alberta’s Kayla Skrlik and B.C.’s Corryn Brown secured spots early in Pool A, the three playoff teams from Pool B remained in flux heading into the final draw
