A fast-moving fire fueled by winds erupted in northwestern Los Angeles County near the 5 Freeway overnight. Evacuation warnings are in place.

A fire broke out south of Gorman early Thursday morning just after 1 a.m. The fire is being described as a brush fire that has now burned 490 acres and is 5% contained, according to Cal Fire. The fire is just east of Smokey Bear Road and Vista Del Lago Road.
