Ukraine has received its first shipment of liquefied natural gas from the US, as the war-torn country joins broader European efforts to fully wean themselves off Russian fossil fuels in preparation for Donald Trump’s return to the White House.

"Despite Russia's attempts to destroy our energy system during the war, we have won another victory on the energy front," Andriy Yermak, head of the Presidential Office, said on Dec. 28.

Ukraine has received liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States for the first time. The delivery was facilitated via Greece, according to the Telegram channel of Andriy Yermak, Head of the Office of the President.
