House Republicans on Wednesday night released a package of major changes to President Donald Trump’s massive domestic policy bill that reflects days of negotiations to win over key holdouts.

Trump offered few details at the time, but later made similar pledges to eliminate taxes on other forms of income, including overtime wages and Social Security payments. Those ideas, along with a tax deduction for auto loan interest, are also included in the GOP’s budget bill.

The changes are intended to placate the party’s warring wings just enough to get the bill passed late Wednesday or early Thursday.

The money would be invested on children’s behalf in the financial markets for them to use once they had grown up.
