"The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. However, gusty winds and heavy rain are still possible with this thunderstorm," according to the NWS Raleigh NC. The warning is in effect until 4:45 p.m.

The NWS Blacksburg VA issued an updated severe thunderstorm warning at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday in effect until 8:15 p.m. for Alleghany County.

Forecasters say isolated thunderstorm cells could become strong enough to produce small hail and wind gusts that could topple trees and power lines.
