Canada's Prime Minister Mark Carney said on Friday that his country will drop some of its billions of dollars in retaliatory tariffs on US goods, though it will keep levies on autos, steel and aluminium.

After Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced he would lower tariffs, President Trump said "We want to be very good to Canada. I like Carney a lot. I think he's a very good person."

Canada will remove all tariffs on goods from the United States that are covered by the Canada-U.S.-Mexico Agreement by Sept. 1, Prime Minister Mark Carney announced on Friday.
