Sheriff Chuck Havard expressed gratitude after the office's $100,000 goal for a new patrol boat was surpassed in just 36 hours following a Facebook post requesting donations.

The sheriff’s office, thanks in large part to community support, they say, has purchased a 24-foot patrol boat to help with water rescues and other needs throughout the county’s waters.
