What started as a five-piece steel drum band has morphed into four bands with 80 members under the direction of Canal Winchester High School music director Todd Phillips.

Since the early 90s, one Blue Hill band has been bringing the community together through the sounds of the steel drum.

To learn more about her unusual musical enterprise, the Citizen caught up with Vicky and her steel drummers while they were rehearsing in her Rowayton home.

They're talented, energetic, and look fabulous in Hawaiian shirts. These are the members of the Carnival Kids Steel Drum Orchestra based at Lancaster High School.
