While it was a cool start with temperatures in the low 60s and upper 50s across South Florida, most areas woke to temperatures close to our average low of 62 degrees. It will be nice and dry with pleasant highs in the mid to upper 70s in the afternoon under mostly sunny skies.

The cold weather pushed the City of West Palm Beach to cancel the popular Clematis by Night event with temperatures dropping to 54 degrees by 9 p.m. Thursday.

The cold spell will be short-lived, as South Florida begins a gradual warm-up on Saturday. Winds will shift from the northeast to the east, allowing a warmer airmass to move into the area. By Saturday night, low temperatures will feel much more comfortable compared to tonight's sharp chill.
