Plane crash in Wesley Chapel neighborhood kills one: PCFR
One person is dead after a plane crashed in a Wesley Chapel neighborhood, according to Pasco County Fire Rescue.
The Los Angeles Fire Department said the crash was reported around 11:08 a.m. near Ralston Avenue and Van Nuys Boulevard in Pacoima. High-voltage powerlines were knocked down by the single-engine plane, which appeared to be a 2007 Cessna 172S Skyhawk, as it came down.
The pilots, who were both killed, have been credited with saving the lives of the 72 passengers on the plane late Sunday by quickly braking and minimizing the impact.
