LOS ANGELES (AP) - Huell Howser, the homespun host of public television's popular "California's Gold" travelogues, has died at age 67.

Huell Howser, the reporter who traveled California interviewing thousands of local people for public broadcasting television for some 19 years, has died at the age of 67, KCET said on Monday.

Huell Howser recently passed away from prostate cancer. Hollandia published the following in a blog announcement: We wanted to take a moment to give our gratitude and tribute to Huell Howser.
