Add a doll hair salon, a doll hospital, a bookstore, a café, and a theater presenting An American Girl Musical, and you'll end up wondering if there’s a world outside of Addy, Samantha, and ...

It's the only American Girl store in the Pittsburgh area, and it even has a doll hair salon. Hundreds of shoppers lined up when the temporary store opened last year.

The store will feature an assortment of the popular American Girl dolls, books and accessories, along with the Doll Hair Salon, where the dolls can get everything from updos to manicures.

Update: This store will not have a doll hair salon. American Girl is a Mattel company that sells dolls with elaborate background stories.

In the face of all that wisdom, the American Girl company has set up a doll hair salon, where a girl can have her doll’s tresses “done” for $10, $15, or $20, depending on the ‘do.

The outlet location will sell dolls and items from American Girl's "Truly Me" line. The Doll Hair Salon and Ear Piercing will not be available at the outlet location.

The store at Alderwood mall is one of only 20 American Girl emporiums, which have a cafe, books, doll hair salon and everything else a girl — or a boy — wants. Many sales are online.

"The store will feature an assortment of the popular American Girl dolls, books and accessories, along with the signature Doll Hair Salon," the website says.
