Country music legend Jeannie Seely, known as "Miss Country Soul," died Friday at the age of 85, according to her publicist.

Country star Jeannie Seely, who rose to fame in the '60s and '70s and became one of the Grand Ole Opry's most beloved performers, has died at 85.

She blazed a trail for women in country music with the candor of her songs and her bold fashion sense. She was the first woman to host a segment on the Opry.
