Around lunchtime Wednesday in the Bronx, Volpe and three boys took a turn on stage at The Dugout sports bar performing a rendition of the Sinatra classic that is on a loop at Yankee Stadium after every home victory, “New York, New York.”

Anthony Volpe admitted that he got played on Wednesday night, and it cost the Yankees a chance to end their five-game losing streak.

There seems to be genuine concern among at least some Yankees fans that the 24-year old Volpe isn't actually the long-term answer at shortstop. He is a confusing case, to be sure. Volpe won a Gold Glove, but he ranks just 24th this season in Outs Above Average among shortstops.
